Sand-Based Coating Information:
The .5% sand-based coating on the bottom of each layer is fully degradable, non-toxic & FDA approved for food-contact & heat-resistance up to 420 degrees. It degrades back into oxygen, organic compounds & silica, which is from sand, quartz & is the most abundant mineral on earth. It doesn't biodegrade, because it's bioinert, inorganic, has high thermal stability & is not bio-reactive or bio-accumulative. That's why sand & rocks persist in nature & only degrade into natural dust fragments that are non-toxic, unlike plastics, which degrade into micro & nano particles that are volatile & harmful to biological life.
